We are looking for a Growth Operations Manager to join StepOne in Mumbai, responsible for building and managing the engine that drives new business growth.
This isn’t a "service provider" role; it’s a high-accountability position for a strategic thinker who understands that a seamless client experience begins with disciplined internal systems. You will own the intelligence and execution layer behind our business development function, identifying non-obvious opportunities, directing field teams, and ensuring every lead is met with meticulous follow-through.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Identify and qualify high-potential brand prospects across priority industries using a combination of market research, event intelligence, and digital prospecting tools.
- Own pipeline visibility and reporting through disciplined CRM updates, structured weekly reporting, actionable loss analysis, and continuous market intelligence.
- Direct and support the BD team by assigning event targets, company lists, and outreach priorities
- Closely monitor conversations, leads generated, and pipeline movement by the BD team, ensuring no opportunity is lost due to lack of follow-through
- Leverage CRM systems, automation tools, and AI-assisted workflows to improve prospecting efficiency, personalise outreach at scale, and maintain high-quality pipeline hygiene.
- Lead client-facing conversations- drive discovery discussions, ask sharp questions, and position solutions with clarity and commercial intent.
- Translate client conversations into clear, structured briefs and collaborate closely with internal teams to shape compelling, relevant proposals.
- Consolidate updates from the BD team, identify gaps, and ensure leadership has a clear view of pipeline health
- Act as the central coordination point between the BD team and internal stakeholders, ensuring smooth information flow and clarity on priorities
- Identify patterns in market activity, field feedback, and pipeline performance to improve targeting, outreach, and conversion strategy
- Demonstrate strong commercial judgment- understand budgets, qualify opportunities effectively, and focus efforts on high-value, high-conversion prospects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across accounts, moving from first contact to long-term business potential.
- Continuously refine outreach, messaging, and approach based on response data, market feedback, and conversion patterns.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience and Skills
- 3 to 6 years in B2B business development, sales operations, growth, or project management roles. Backgrounds in experiential marketing, events, advertising, media, or brand services are preferred. Strong consideration for candidates from BFSI, technology, or pharma sales who understand how large brands function.
- A demonstrable track record of building pipelines independently- not just managing inbound or supporting a senior BD person.
- Sharp written and verbal communication. You can write an email that gets opened and hold a room in a client meeting without a slide deck.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms, sales automation tools, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and a genuine willingness to learn and use AI-assisted sales and research tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously without losing discipline on follow-up, CRM hygiene, or reporting.
- Understand margins, deal structure, and why some deals should not be taken.
