Company Description
Kare Counselling is a Mumbai-based mental health practice combining internationally trained clinical expertise with a deep understanding of the South Asian cultural context. Founded by Kareena Mehta (Ed.M., M.A., Columbia University), the practice offers individual, couples, and family therapy through in-person sessions in Nariman Point and virtual services across India and the global diaspora.
Kare is evolving beyond a traditional therapy practice into a comprehensive mental wellness ecosystem. Our broader platform includes Kare Collective - a product and community arm focused on clinician-designed tools such as books, therapeutic board games, and guided journals that extend mental health support into everyday life.
Role Description
1. Kare Collective — Revenue & Distribution
• Own end-to-end revenue targets for all Kare Collective products (book, journal, board games, bundles)
• Build and manage a multi-channel sales engine: D2C (karecounselling.com), Amazon, Flipkart, and offline retail
• Lead Crossword, Kitab Khana, and indie bookstore relationships — from first conversation to shelf placement
• Drive corporate gifting and bulk order strategy (HR/L&D, Diwali, wellness programmes)
• Identify, negotiate, and onboard distribution partners, retail chains, and institutional buyers
• Continuously track and improve unit economics: CAC, LTV, contribution margins, channel profitability
• Experiment with growth levers — bundling, limited editions, subscription, gifting tiers
2. Corporate & Institutional Partnerships
• Build and close corporate wellness partnerships — Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs), L&D workshops, retainer clients
• Target: Bain, Dimexon, hospitals, schools, universities, NGOs, and startup wellness budgets
• Design bulk sales strategies that integrate therapy sessions + Kare Collective products into single packages
• Lead on-ground activations, launch events, and community engagement initiatives
- Represent Kare in B2B conversations with professionalism and brand alignment
Experience & Skills
• 2–5 years in business development, category management, growth, or finance roles — ideally at a startup or consumer brand
• MBA from a top-tier institution strongly preferred (IIM, ISB, or equivalent)
• Comfortable owning a P&L — you know what contribution margin means and you care about it
• Strong at financial modelling: you can build a revenue forecast and a unit economics model in Excel without being prompted
• Experience with e-commerce platforms (Amazon Seller Central, Shopify, or similar) is a strong plus
• Comfortable working with ambiguity, building from scratch, and wearing multiple hats
• Excellent communicator — you can write a sharp email, run a corporate meeting, and negotiate a distribution deal
