- Work Output
- Ensure and build group competency in terms of software & solutions.
- Maintain group focus towards in depth process technology, plant operations, equipment design, simulation, controls, DCS instrumentation, safety interlocks, start-up and shutdown controls, economics and other relevant aspects while implementing solutions.
- Review FDS
- Guide model building, commissioning & online tuning
- Establish connectivity between DCS and control/automation systems
- Guide performance review post implementation
- Ensure application of tools, techniques, features and capabilities
- Develop project proposal for management approval & budget
- Manage multiple projects within allocated budget & resources available
- Coordinate with key stakeholders at sites for implementation & embedding of new process/system
- Coordinate with partner/vendor for project execution
- Identify competitive commercial solution for recommendation
- Plan & schedule end user trainings
- Help design, implement & support systems/processes.
- Establish technical standards - adopt, authorize and develop as needed
- Establish standard validation procedures (SAT / MAT / FAT) specific to all services
- Assess new Technology/concept papers and learn from the multiple on-going programmes worldwide. Recommend for improvement in current system
- Review Benchmarking/Audit results and approve action plans for bridging gaps
- Implement effective Life Cycle Management
- Envisage need, propose and invite offers for facilities / projects (new/Up gradation)
- Establish an appropriate monitoring system that reflects real monetary/safety/reliability performance.

- Ensure compliance with business processes
- Initiate/propose software vendor interactions
- Identify/upgrade fidelity potential of all existing application to revise existing service level based on performance data

- Document various projects, training & best practices related materials
- Issue utilisation / effectiveness reports
- Maintain and version manage respective application software
- Analyse & decide on audit summary reports
- HSE & Other Regulatory Compliance:
- Monitor and audit compliance with applicable HSE procedures/ practices
- Track new regulations (local and international) and provide structured mechanism for compliance
- Devise / initiate Clause in MOC - Clearance from control & automation as compliance need before any MOC is approved.
- Min. BE/B Tech in Chemical Engineering from a reputed institute
- 12 - 15 years of experience in refinery / petrochemical industry with at least 8 to 10 years in Process Automation & Control.
- Adequate knowledge of process technologies used in refining / petrochemical industries
- Good hold in related software, solutions, process technology
- Understanding of budgetary & financial aspects
- Willingness to study, learn, understand and work with operations & technical services
- Mentoring for developing in-house software, solution and process technology competency
