Job Title: Group Account Manager
Role & Responsibilities
As a Group Account Manager in the Account Management Department, you are a senior partner to both your clients and your internal teams. You will lead multiple account teams to deliver complex digital and technology-led projects; spanning websites, apps, platforms, or bespoke technology solutions, while driving client business growth and unlocking new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership & Relationship Management
- Act as senior day-to-day contact for key client stakeholders; build and maintain trusted relationships at the highest client levels.
- Shape and oversee strategic digital plans and roadmaps that align with client business objectives.
- Serve as the brand guardian, ensuring all work meets brand guidelines and internal quality benchmarks.
- Identify and convert opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding the scope of services.
- Lead external presentations and discussions with client senior leadership to showcase agency thinking, strategy, performance, and new ideas.
Project Delivery & Internal Team Coordination
- Lead and mentor account managers and executives, ensuring smooth delivery across multiple accounts.
- Drive project scoping, briefing, scheduling, resource planning, and budgeting for concurrent projects.
- Coordinate and align multiple internal teams; UX, UI, Strategy, Creative, Copy, Technology, Finance to ensure integrated delivery.
- Create clarity and accountability across all stakeholders through clear documentation, timelines, and status updates.
- Review and refine workflows to improve efficiency, quality, and profitability.
Business Development & Growth
- Collaborate with agency leadership on new business pitches, proposals, and presentations.
- Assist to develop pitch strategies, cost estimates, timelines, and resourcing plans for new and existing business.
- Lead or support high-level external presentations to potential and existing clients to win new mandates or expand current ones.
- Track, report, and deliver on revenue growth and profitability goals.
Internal Leadership & Team Development
- Act as a key point of contact between your team and senior agency leadership — clearly communicating project updates, escalations, risks, and solutions.
- Lead internal presentations to leadership on account performance, delivery progress, opportunities, and challenges.
- Coach, mentor, and upskill a team of Account Managers, Senior Executives, and Executives; drive performance, growth, and a culture of collaboration.
- Facilitate seamless information flow and alignment across departments.
Reporting & Communication
- Maintain up-to-date reports on account health, project status, financial tracking, and growth pipeline.
- Actively communicate progress, dependencies, and risks to internal teams and senior stakeholders.
- Resolve challenges proactively to protect delivery timelines, budgets, and relationships.
Job Requirements
- Education: Graduate degree; relevant certifications in digital marketing, project management, or tech platforms are a plus.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in account management within a digital/marketing agency, with significant experience delivering tech-enabled projects (websites, apps, digital platforms & other digital be spoke solutions).
- Proven experience managing large client relationships and leading senior-level conversations and presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional teams and coordinate across UX, UI, Strategy, Creative, Tech, Finance, and other key functions.
- Strong business acumen and a proven record of identifying and converting growth opportunities.
- Solid working knowledge of digital project lifecycles, technology processes, SEO, UX/UI fundamentals, and content workflows.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Solutions-driven, proactive, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and handle competing priorities.
