About the role and company -
We are a growing marketing agency that is looking for a personable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented individual to join our team. The primary responsibility of the Group Account Manager will be to strategically guide a team of Brand Managers who in turn, manage all aspects of the Agency-Client relationship. This department leads the internal account support team to deliver highly effective full-funnel marketing including demand generation, lead management, lead nurturing to customer success.
The Group Account Manager is also responsible for cultivating existing client relations and ensuring ongoing client satisfaction. You will work with management to uncover new business opportunities with existing clients and be responsible for the overall growth and ongoing revenue stream with existing clients.
You will become an integral part of the team, managing a portfolio of some of the key brands and be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of multi-channel campaigns.
As one of their Account Managers, you will work closely with your clients to understand their business and objectives, and offer creative and strategic input to propose the right solutions, and then work with the internal teams to deliver campaigns on a time scale and to budget.
Responsibilities:
Lead, motivate and supervise a team of Brand Managers
- Keep a handle on their respective workload and time utilization
- Assist management in delegating assignments and workload
- Mentor and develop BM team on best practices and identify training needs based on industry trends
- Holds team accountable and able to manage project creep by overseeing account-level P&L
- Strategic account leadership – contribute to client success by providing strategic recommendations and client guidance
- Identify business development opportunities within the account portfolio in conjunction with Clevertize’s business development team
- Leads and communicates clearly with BM team to successfully execute programs based upon client objectives and to keep campaigns/projects on schedule
- Manage internal and external conflicting interests as they arise
- Directly manage select, high-level/visibility account
PnL management for the clients
- Revenue Generation & Forecasting: Responsible for setting revenue targets for their accounts and forecasting revenue based on project timelines, client budgets, and the scope of work. This includes upselling or cross-selling additional services to boost account revenue
- Cost Management: Manage costs associated with each project, ensuring that expenses such as production, media buying, and any third-party costs are within budget.
- Resource Allocation: Distribution of internal resources, like time and effort from the creative, strategy, and media teams, to avoid over- or under-utilizing team members.
- Client Retention & Growth: Maintaining a positive relationship with clients and ensuring satisfaction directly impact P&L.
- Profitability Analysis: Identifying areas where the agency is overspending or undercharging.
Thinking for the brand
This is not an operational role. It requires thinking for the brand when it comes to identifying opportunities to help the brand win.
- Participation in the ideation process for campaigns and calendars
- Identifying the challenges that the brand faces and proactively discussing possible
- marketing solutions either as a add on to the retainer/project or as a value add to current scope
- Writing effective creative briefs to give direction to the team involved. This also includes conducting research and giving a direction and space wherever relevant.
Skills and Experience:
- 6+ years of experience in marketing, agency experience MUST
- Must have managed multiple mandates which include digital, media, creative, production, social media etc.
- Technology savvy – understanding of marketing platforms and related tools
- Strong understanding of budgeting and forecasting from an agency perspective
Qualification Requisite
- Minimum graduate or holder of UGC approved Diploma in Mass Media / Marketing Communication / Advertising or equivalent.
- Certification in Digital Media / SEO / SEM will add magical brownie points.
