We’re looking for a curious, analytical, and driven Business Insights Data Analyst to join our growing data team. In this role, you’ll uncover the stories behind the data and turn complex information into clear, actionable insights that directly influence assortment and business strategy.
You’ll operate at the intersection of data, strategy, and decision-making, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to solve real business problems. This role requires both analytical depth and business acumen—you’ll be expected not just to report on what happened, but to explain why it happened and what to do next. You’ll work with large, complex datasets and have the opportunity to shape how insights are delivered and consumed across the organization. As the business evolves, you’ll help define new metrics, improve analytical frameworks, and elevate data-driven decision-making at scale.

What You’ll Do
- Analyze customer, transactional, and market data to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
- Deliver assortment performance insights across stores, categories, channels, and initiatives, assisting the category manager in optimizing product offerings.
- Build, maintain, and optimize dashboards and reports to support strategic decision-making, including key performance indicators for the business, sales variance to forecast, and product line and customer profitability.
- Apply customer segmentation and behavioral analytics to inform assortment strategies.
- Design, execute, and measure test-and-learn and A/B experiments to evaluate assortment effectiveness.
- Extract, clean, and transform data using advanced SQL/Postgres queries.
- Define KPIs and performance metrics to monitor business health and efficiency. Create dashboards to track progress and bridge monthly/quarterly sales and profitability trends vs forecast.
- Translate analytical findings into clear, compelling recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to understand business needs and deliver data-driven solutions.
- Maintain and improve existing reporting systems and data pipelines for accuracy and performance.
- Merge datasets across disparate systems for comprehensive profitability analyses (e.g., e-commerce, ERP, freight invoices, etc.)
- Prepare and analyze all sales promotions.
- Perform financial analysis and assist the finance, accounting and sales teams with ad hoc projects as needed.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in business analysis, financial analysis, or related analytical role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, array formulas, Power Pivot; VBA a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to document processes.
- Experience with data visualization tools including Power BI.
- Proven ability to define requirements, analyze metrics, and deliver business insights.
- Strong communication skills with experience influencing stakeholders through data.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central and Microsoft Azure preferred.
- Familiarity with AI data modeling tools.
- Knowledge of data modeling, statistical analysis, or experimentation frameworks.
- Exposure to CRM, marketing, or sales analytics.
- Familiarity with cloud data warehouses.
- Experience with Python or R.
- Experience working with Google analytics or other advertising data platforms.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
