Position Overview
The Middle School Coordinator focuses on volunteer management and program operations for the Girls Who Code club. Girls Who Code is a national initiative aimed at closing access gaps in technology fields by creating supportive spaces where young people build confidence, develop skills, and cultivate a sense of belonging in STEM. This role ensures that facilitators are prepared, logistics are in place, and weekly programming runs smoothly in partnership with the middle school.
This position is for 3-7 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, and onboard student volunteers each semester
- Coordinate background checks and required trainings with school and College partners
- Lead volunteer trainings and weekly planning meetings
- Organize transportation and logistics for club sessions
- Manage program materials, supplies, and snack coordination
- Facilitate weekly club sessions alongside volunteers
- Collaborate with middle school staff on communication and program promotion
- Support continuity and sustainability of the program across semesters
