SUMMARY
The Organizational Development (OD) Intern supports the People & Learning team in executing high-impact culture and people strategy initiatives. This role is central to the launch and sustainment of the Gridiron Way – a company-wide organizational culture campaign designed to activate shared values, align employee behaviors, and build a cohesive identity across Gridiron Air. The OD Intern will contribute to the full lifecycle of OD work, including the development of teaching materials and brand collateral, data collection through focus groups, values activation activities, data analysis, intervention selection and implementation, and post-implementation evaluation.
GENERAL DUTIES
Gridiron Way Culture Campaign
- Assist in the development, formatting, and distribution of teaching materials, toolkits, and facilitator guides that bring the Gridiron Way to life across the organization.
- Support the creation and coordination of brand collateral - including visual assets, campaign messaging, and themed communications materials - in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
- Help organize the and co-facilitate focus groups to collect qualitative data on employee experience, culture perceptions, and value alignment.
- Support values activation activities including workshops, team exercises, and culture-building events designed to embed Gridiron Way principles into day-to-day work.
Data Collection & Analysis
- Compile, organize, and clean qualitative and quantitative data gathered from focus groups, surveys, and other mechanisms.
- Conduct basic data analysis to surface themes, trends, and insights that will inform intervention selection and organizational decision-making.
- Prepare summary reports and presentations that communicate findings clearly to the Organizational Development team and senior leadership.
Intervention Support
- Research evidence-based OD interventions and the best practices, providing recommendations aligns with identified needs.
- Provide logistical and coordination support for the rollout of selected interventions, including scheduling, materials preparation, and stakeholder communication
- Track implementation progress against timelines and deliverables, flagging risks or adjustments as needed.
Post-Implementation Evaluation
- Assist in designing post-implementation evaluation frameworks, including survey instruments and success metrics.
- Collect and analyze evaluation data to assess the effectiveness of OD interventions and culture initiatives.
- Contribute to lessons-learned reviews and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Internal Communications
- Support the development and execution of internal communications campaigns, including drafting newsletters, announcements, intranet content, and employee-facing messaging.
- Ensure communications align with the Gridiron Way brand voice, values and visual identity.
- Assist in maintaining an editorial calendar and coordinating content approvals across stakeholders.
- ·Help measure the reach and effectiveness of internal communications through available analytics and feedback mechanisms.
Authorities:
- Assist in creating and updating OD materials, toolkits, and courseware under the direction of the SVP of People & Learning.
- Support coordination with internal stakeholders and external vendors as assigned.
- Enter and maintain relevant data in organizational tracking and reporting systems as directed.
- All employees are expected to be well-versed in the Gridiron Air Safety Management System (SMS). They should be proficient in carrying out duties in line with their training and participation in the SMS. Moreover, they are encouraged and supported to identify and report safety hazards, detect safety shortcomings, and voice safety concerns within the operation, thus promoting a proactive safety culture.
- May perform other responsibilities as assigned based on business needs and shifting company priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled in a BA or MA degree program in Organizational Development, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and/or Google Workspace.
- Comfortable working with data - able to compile information, identify patterns, and summarize findings.
- Preferred: prior coursework or experience in organizational behavior, change management, survey design, or HR analytics.
- Preferred: Experience with design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite for creating visual collateral.
- General working knowledge of adult learning theory and organizational development principles.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work in an office setting. Occasionally, the employee is exposed to outside weather conditions which may include wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat and cold. When working outside the office, the noise level in the work environment is often loud. Occasional travel may be required (<10%).
