About the role

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is a new global fund created to support the efforts of developing countries to respond to the challenge of climate change. GCF helps developing countries limit or reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and adapt to climate change. It seeks to promote a paradigm shift to low-emission and climate-resilient development, taking into account the needs of nations that are particularly vulnerable to climate change impacts. The Green Climate Fund is based in Songdo, Incheon City, Republic of Korea. The GCF's Capacity Building Specialist (CBS) is responsible for developing and managing the capacity building strategy, programme and activities of the GCF. The role includes: -Developing the overall capacity building strategy, policy, framework and plans of the GCF -Designing and leading capacity building activities, including trainings, workshops, webinars, peer-to-peer learning, etc. -Managing the GCF capacity building portfolio, including monitoring and evaluation of the activities -Providing strategic advice and guidance on capacity building issues to the GCF Secretariat and Board -Collaborating with internal and external partners, such as Accredited Entities, National Designated Authorities, delivery partners, etc. to implement capacity building activities -Contributing to the knowledge management and capacity building reporting of the GCF
