The Basics of a Learning & Development Specialist I:
- Full-Time, Exempt
- Schedule: Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Hybrid Position - After the initial training period, a hybrid work model will become an option.
- Location: Headquarters - Austin, TX
About the Role
We’re looking for a detail-driven and collaborative Learning & Development Specialist I to help bring training and operational excellence to life. In this role, you’ll turn complex processes into clear, actionable learning experiences while supporting training programs that drive consistency, compliance, and performance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner with subject matter experts to document and maintain clear procedures
- Coordinate training programs, schedules, and logistics
- Manage and update content within the Learning Management System (LMS)
- Support onboarding and ongoing training across departments
- Track training completion and provide reporting insights
- Assist in developing training materials, job aids, and learning content
- Support and occasionally deliver training sessions
Other Duties
- Ensure compliance with BSA/AML training and policies
- Support continuous improvement of training materials and processes
- Travel to branches and training locations as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
Must Haves as a Learning & Development Specialist:
- 2–4 years of experience in L&D, training coordination, or operations support
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to translate complex information into clear procedures
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- High School diploma (or equivalent)
- Valid Texas Driver’s License with clean driving record
Nice to Haves as a Learning & Development Specialist:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Education, HR, Business, etc.)
- Experience in financial services, credit union, or banking
- Experience managing an LMS or writing operational procedures
