Position Summary
The Technology Manager serves as the leader overseeing the day-to-day management of the technology systems and infrastructure that support Great Hearts Online. This role ensures that students, families, and staff have reliable access to the technology tools necessary for teaching, learning, and school operations.
The Technology Manager oversees the deployment and management of back-end systems that support instruction, school operations, and data reporting, including system configuration, user accounts, data integrity, and security. This role manages the technology ticketing system and leads customer-focused technical support practices for scholars, families, and staff.
Working closely with enrollment, teachers, and academic leadership, the Technology Manager coordinates system implementations, maintains operational excellence across Nova’s digital platforms, and delivers reliable technology support that enables uninterrupted teaching and learning.
Duties and Responsibilities
Technology Systems Management
Manage the daily operation and performance of core technology systems used by Great Hearts Nova.
Responsibilities include:
Oversee the administration of the Google console, ticketing system, and related educational platforms
Updates knowledge-based technology articles in the help center and teacher training courses
Manage system configuration, permissions, and user access across platforms
Ensure system reliability, uptime, and performance across the Nova technology infrastructure
Monitor system updates, upgrades, and integrations
User Support & Technical Assistance
Ensure students, families, and staff receive timely and effective technology support.
Responsibilities include:
Coordinate technical support for faculty, staff, and families
Troubleshoot technology issues and escalate complex issues as needed
Develop and maintain help resources, guides, and documentation
Support onboarding and training for faculty and staff on key technology platforms
Technology Implementation & Projects
Support the implementation of new technology systems and tools across the organization.
Responsibilities include:
Assist in evaluating and implementing new educational technology platforms
Coordinate technology rollouts and system launches
Support the integration of new tools with existing systems
Help manage vendor relationships and service providers
Data & Systems Coordination
Support effective data management and reporting across technology platforms.
Responsibilities include:
Ensure systems are properly configured for accurate reporting and data management
Support the integration of data between systems when appropriate
Assist leadership teams with access to relevant technology insights and reporting tools
Security & Compliance
Help maintain secure and compliant technology systems.
Responsibilities include:
Support implementation of cybersecurity best practices
Maintain proper access controls and user permissions
Assist with compliance requirements related to student information and data security
Qualifications, Competencies, and Strengths
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, or a related field preferred.
3–7 years of experience managing technology systems, IT operations, or educational technology platforms.
Experience supporting technology systems in K–12 education, online learning, or nonprofit organizations preferred.
Experience managing or administering platforms such as LMS systems, SIS platforms, and collaboration tools preferred.
Technology Expertise
Experience with or familiarity in the following areas is preferred:
Learning Management Systems (Canvas, Google Classroom, Schoology, or similar)
Student Information Systems (PowerSchool or similar)
Video conferencing and online learning tools (Zoom or similar)
Cloud-based systems and user management platforms
Project and Systems Management

Extracurricular Activities:
Teachers/staff are expected to contribute to the broader life of the school community beyond their classroom instructional duties. As part of their professional responsibilities, teachers/staff may be asked to volunteer time to support school-sponsored activities such as student clubs, extracurricular programs, academic competitions, community events, and other enrichment opportunities. Participation in these activities helps foster a vibrant school culture, supports student development, and strengthens relationships within the school community. While specific assignments may vary based on school needs and teacher/staff interests, faculty members and staff are expected to demonstrate a spirit of service and collaboration by contributing time and effort to these initiatives throughout the school year.
Additional Requirements
Type of clearance:
- Must possess or obtain a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Level Fingerprint Clearance Card and complete Texas Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance and background check requirements. Additional state clearances may be required.
Physical functions:
- Requires, but is not limited to, standing, sitting, repetitive hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
Travel required:
- May be required to travel locally to various academies within the Phoenix metro area and up to 10% of the time as needed.
