About the role
Summary
Assists with the encapsulation process and machines responsible for the manufacturing of products according to batch records.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) relating to Soft Gel and Encapsulation equipment
- Immediately bring any discrepancy to the attention of a supervisor, and obtain approval from the supervisor before operating the encapsulation equipment
- Spreads Soft Gels onto drying trays
- Moves stacks of drying trays to the appropriate drying rooms
- Fills out appropriate documentation on batch records, maintaining good documentation practices.
- Helps monitor the machine
- Assists with gelatin and material changeover operations
- Assists with performing In-process testing and checks throughout product runs and daily routines
- Assists in basic cleaning of machines and production rooms following major and minor changeovers
- Assist in getting clearances from QA on appropriate equipment and GMP rooms for processing
- Responsible for following current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), 21 CFR Part 211, and 21 CFR Part 111
- Understanding of Equipment SOPs.
- Maintain neat and clean work areas
- Maintain a safe work environment
- Assist in the disassembly of non-critical component machine parts
- Assist with the assembly and installation of all non-critical component equipment parts.
- Assist with cleaning all non-critical component machine parts and equipment
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED {General Educations Diploma)
- Experience a plus; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Able to read and follow SOPs
- Able to work in compliance with current GMPs
- Able to perform basic math calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Work safely around production equipment and in a manufacturing setting
- Arrives on or before the scheduled start time to properly review duties for the day
- Able to read, write, and speak English, plus perform basic math
- Follow both written and oral instructions
- Works well independently and with a team
- Flexibility to work different job functions and overtime.
Physical/ Work Environment/ Expectations
- This position works within a GMP Manufacturing Environment, office environment and inside the plant
- Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning.
- Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear Personal Protective Equipment
- {PPE) overhead, face, hands, and arms
- No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish, or artificial fingernails may be worn in these work environments.
- Pace may be fast, and job completion demands may be high.
- While performing the duties, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and see, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision
