Purpose of role

We have an exciting opportunity for a PR professional with expertise within corporate and financial communications to join our team based in Bucharest.

The candidate is expected to demonstrate ability to manage high-profile international accounts, to retain clients and grow them further. Previous experience as a top-level consultant or senior journalist is mandatory, as well as a very good knowledge of the financial service sectors, at both national and international levels. The successful candidate is expected to build strong relationships with flagship accounts; to draft complex communication strategies; and to proactively contribute to client's business development. Project management skills are required as well as the ability to manage various suppliers. A hands-on approach, analytical skills and team work will be crucial for this role.


The day to day

  • Use in-depth media and digital knowledge along with expertise of the financial services sector to deliver strategic counsel and solutions to clients
  • Implement crisis management techniques and advise on potential courses of action
  • Counsel clients on the role communications plays in an organisation’s business strategy, using the appropriate methods to develop strong working relationships
  • Resolve client issues with clarity about desired outcomes
  • Develop new business leads and assist in the negotiation process with prospective and existing clients
  • Monitor media and industry trends for new opportunities to sell in additional Grayling products and services to clients to enhance revenue and profitability
  • Assist in creating budgets, handling the ongoing profitable management of them
  • Develop individuals using the appropriate people management techniques and company processes, resolving issues promptly and fairly, whilst celebrating successes - empowering the team achieve their full potential in a positive and supportive environment
  • Connect with colleagues from across the global Grayling network, leveraging opportunities to work together for commercial benefit and to enhance professional development and learning
  • Build an external network for the benefit of self and the wider business by seeking out and attending external professional networking events and identifying potential new business opportunities


Skills, Experience And Qualifications

  • Languages: Romanian (native); English (professional)
  • Proven experience (ideally 3+ years) of working on corporate communication / PR
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with the project management skills to see a program through from start to finish
  • Strong understanding of both traditional and digital public relations
  • Curious – a desire to learn, improve, apply new knowledge and develop self
  • Highly commercially astute and decisive
  • Confident networker
  • Organised with ability to juggle multiple and changing priorities
  • Supportive, inspiring and motivational leader
  • Calm and authoritative in response to issues or crisis
