We’re looking for a multi-disciplined designer who can craft stunning visuals and build polished digital experiences — someone equally at home in Illustrator and a browser dev tool.
About The Role
As our Graphic & Web Designer, you will be the creative force behind how our studio and its clients look, feel, and function online and offline. You’ll own brand identity work, internal studio graphics, marketing collateral, and campaign visuals — while also designing and developing responsive, pixel-perfect web experiences. When workload demands it, you’ll step into a management role: briefing and coordinating external agency partners and freelancers to scale output without compromising quality. You think holistically: a great brand isn’t just a logo, it’s a system, and a great website isn’t just beautiful, it’s purposeful. You bring both craft and leadership to every brief.
What You’ll Do
Brand identity:
- Design and evolve brand identities — logos, colour systems, typography, and guidelines — for studio clients across industries.
- Internal graphics: Own all in-house design needs — studio presentations, proposals, social content, event materials, and brand collateral — keeping the agency’s own visual identity sharp and consistent.
- Marketing collateral: Produce print and digital assets: brochures, pitch decks, social creatives, OOH, packaging, and campaign visuals.
- Art direction: Develop visual concepts and mood boards; guide photographers, illustrators, and junior designers to maintain creative consistency.
- Motion & animation: Create lightweight motion graphics, animated social content, and GIFs to bring static designs to life.
Web Design & Development
- UI/UX design: Design intuitive, visually compelling interfaces — wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups — for client websites and landing pages.
- Front-end build: Develop responsive, cross-browser-compatible websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; comfortable with frameworks like React or Vue is a plus.
- CMS integration: Build and customise sites on WordPress, Webflow, or Framer; hand off clean, documented builds to clients.
- Performance & accessibility: Optimise designs for load speed, SEO basics, and WCAG accessibility standards.
- Client collaboration: Translate briefs into creative solutions, present concepts confidently, and iterate based on feedback.
Agency Team Management
- Manage external agency partners: When internal capacity is exceeded, identify, brief, and onboard freelance designers or external agency teams to handle overflow work — maintaining quality and brand consistency throughout.
- Brief & coordinate: Write clear, detailed creative briefs for external partners; set timelines, manage deliverables, and ensure output meets studio standards before it reaches the client.
- Review & QA: Review all agency-produced work against brief, brand guidelines, and quality benchmarks; provide structured feedback and sign off before submission.
- Vendor relationships: Build and maintain a reliable network of trusted freelancers, studios, and specialist vendors (illustrators, motion designers, developers) the agency can call on at pace.
- Budget oversight: Track costs for outsourced work, flag overruns, and help the studio team make smart decisions about when to use external resources versus internal capacity.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of professional design experience — ideally at a creative agency or digital studio
- Experience managing external agencies, freelancers, or vendor teams — briefing, reviewing, and delivering at pace
- Expert-level Adobe Creative Suite — Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign; After Effects is a bonus
- Strong UI/UX skills — Figma is your default; you prototype and hand off with care
- Solid front-end fundamentals — HTML, CSS, JavaScript; you can build what you design
- CMS experience — WordPress, Webflow, or Framer; you’ve launched real client sites
- Typography and grid mastery — you have an eye for spacing, hierarchy, and visual rhythm
- A portfolio that shows range — brand work, digital campaigns, and web projects
- Understanding of print production — specs, bleeds, colour profiles, and vendor coordination
- Strong communication skills — you can sell a concept and take feedback constructively
- Organised and deadline-driven — able to manage multiple client projects without dropping the ball
NICE TO HAVE
- Motion design experience — After Effects, Lottie animations, or CSS animation
- Experience with React or Vue for component-based front-end builds
- 3D or generative design skills — Blender, Cinema 4D, or AI-assisted workflows
- Illustration skills — custom iconography, character design, or editorial illustration
- Experience with design systems and component libraries at scale
- Knowledge of Google Ads, Meta, or display ad specifications and formats
- Photography or basic video editing ability
