About Goonj
A Human-Centred Approach to Communication & Development
Goonj is an award-winning development organisation that has, for over two decades, built a unique model of addressing material poverty through dignity, circularity, and community participation.
At the heart of Goonj’s work is a shift in narrative - from charity to shared responsibility, from discard to value, and from beneficiaries to equal stakeholders.
Communication at Goonj is not just about visibility; it is about shaping perception, building respect, and enabling deeper connections between people, materials, and purpose.
Purpose of the Role
The Designer – Communications is not just a creator of visuals, but a translator of values into visual language.
This role requires someone who can understand the depth of Goonj’s work and express it through designs that are simple, respectful, and powerful - without falling into stereotypes or charity-driven imagery.
You will work in a fast-paced, campaign-driven environment, collaborating closely with teams to ensure every visual reflects dignity, clarity, and authenticity - while also strengthening Goonj’s overall communication systems.
You will take end-to-end ownership of design work - from understanding briefs and ideation to final execution and delivery.

Critically evaluate AI outputs to ensure accuracy, contextual relevance, and dignity-first representation
Stay updated with emerging tools and identify practical use cases for Goonj’s communication needs
