Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Graphic Designer role based in Kolkata. The Graphic Designer will create visual assets that communicate Backyard Botanist India’s mission and projects, including social media graphics, infographics, presentations, and outreach materials. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing brand-aligned designs, designing logos and visual identities for specific projects, and producing print and digital collateral for campaigns and events. The role involves collaborating with ecology, field, and communications teams to translate technical concepts into clear, engaging visual narratives. The Graphic Designer will also support branding for partner and CSR initiatives, maintain design templates and asset libraries, and ensure consistency across all visual touchpoints.
Qualifications
- Strong visual design capabilities, including Graphics and Graphic Design skills for both digital and print media.
- Experience in Logo Design and Branding to create and maintain coherent visual identities for projects and partnerships.
- Proficiency in Typography and layout design to produce clear, readable, and aesthetically consistent materials.
- Advanced skills with industry-standard design tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, or equivalent).
- Ability to interpret complex ecological and climate concepts into accessible visual content.
- Attention to detail, strong time management, and ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills, with openness to feedback from interdisciplinary teams.
- Relevant degree or formal training in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field; experience in sustainability or social impact sectors is an advantage.
