Position Overview:
The Grant Manager / Financial Manager will oversee the financial management, budgeting, reporting, and compliance for all grant-funded programs and projects. This role is essential for ensuring transparency, accountability, and optimal utilization of external and internal funding to achieve organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage the full grant lifecycle including proposal budgeting, fund allocation, compliance, reporting, and close-out.
· Develop and maintain systems for tracking grant expenditure, disbursements, and budget adherence.
· Ensure all grants comply with donor guidelines, organizational policies, and statutory regulations (including FCRA if applicable).
· Prepare periodic financial reports, grant utilization and audit statements for donors, senior management, and regulatory authorities.
· Co-ordinating with program leads and fundraising teams to support budget development, forecasting, and resource planning.
· Monitor and analyze grant financial performance; proactively flag risks, underspends, or variances.
· Coordinate donor audits, financial reviews, and respond to inquiries on fund usage.
· Develop internal controls, policies, and training to strengthen financial management at project and organizational levels.
· Maintain relationships with donors, banks, auditors, and relevant partners for effective fund management and reporting.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting or similar field.
· 8+ years’ experience managing finance or grants in a development, NGO, or donor-funded context.
· Proven expertise in budgeting, fund management, accounting systems, and donor financial regulations.
· Proficiency in financial software (Tally, QuickBooks, MS Excel, ERP systems); familiarity with grant management software is a plus.
· Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
· Ability to interpret grant agreements, financial reports, and regulatory compliance requirements.
· Prior experience with FCRA, 80G, CSR, or international donor grants.
· Knowledge of audit processes and non-profit accounting standards.
Desirable:
· Certifications in finance (CA, CPA, CFA) or grant management (PMG, GMS, etc.), ESG Reporting
