THE ROLE

The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth through the leadership of National Account Managers, Regional Account Managers, and Business Development Managers. This role owns both revenue expansion within existing accounts and the acquisition of new strategic accounts. 


The Senior Sales Manager will develop and execute sales strategies, build a high-performance sales culture, coach and develop team members, and ensure disciplined execution across the entire revenue organization. This role requires a highly driven leader who combines strategic thinking with operational discipline and has a passion for building and coaching elite sales teams


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

Revenue Growth Strategy

  • Develop and execute strategies to drive revenue growth across new and existing customers.
  • Identify key market opportunities and prioritize target accounts and verticals.
  • Lead initiatives to acquire new strategic accounts
  • Identify high-value prospects and guide the team through complex sales cycles
  • Create clear revenue targets and sales plans aligne with company growth objectives.
  • Monitor performance metrics and adjust strategies to ensure consistent growth.


Sales Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of: National Account Managers, Regional Account Managers & Business Development Managers.
  • Establish clear sales expectations, quotas, and performance standards.
  • Condust regular pipeline reviews, deal coahing, and territory strategy sessions.
  • Build a culture of accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement. 
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top sales talent.


Strategic Account Expansion

  • Develop strategies to deepen relationships with key customers and expand wallet share.
  • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities across the company’s product and service offerings.
  • Partner with internal teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences that drive long-term retention and growth.



Sales Process & Execution

  • Implement structured sales processes to improve pipeline visibility and forecast accuracy.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators.
  • Ensure consistent use of CRM systems and reporting tools


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with marketing to align lead generation and campaign strategies.
  • Collaborate with operations and customer success teams to ensure strong post-sale customer experience.
  • Provide feedback to leadership regarding market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer needs.


Required Experience

  • 7–10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience. 
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth through both new customer acquisition and account expansion. 
  • Experience managing multi-level sales teams including account managers and business development roles.
  • Strong experience leading teams in low-margin, high-volume environments is preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, or relevant field preferred.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of fingers, hands, and arms, repetitive hand, and wrist motions throughout the workday.
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk short and long distances as needed, climb stairs, push, or pull, stoop, kneel, bend down or crouch.
  • Ability to read computer screens, enter data in computer, open cabinet drawers to file or retrieve information.
  • Frequently required to lift or move materials up to 10 pounds.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Professional and deadline-oriented environment in an office setting with occasional presence on the production floor.
  • Moderate noise level.
  • Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.
  • Interaction with staff and customers.
