Description
The Retail Associate plays a crucial role in creating memorable visitor experiences at the GRPM by delivering exceptional customer service and facilitating purchases in the Curiosity Shop. This position involves engaging with visitors, operating the point-of-sale system, and maintaining an inviting store environment through product display management and merchandise restocking. By offering products that complement the Museum's collections and exhibits, Retail Associates directly support the Museum's mission and enhance the visitor experience. They collaborate with Customer Service Associates to ensure positive and memorable visits, which may include assisting with ticketing and the Spillman Carousel. While receiving daily tasks and guidance from the Retail Service Lead, the Retail Associate directly reports to the Retail Service Manager. Occasional direction may also come from the Customer Service Manager.
Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES, including, but not limited to:

Proactively interact with visitors and solve any challenges.

Responsible for retail sales and customer service inside the Curiosity Shop.

Ability to competently perform cash register duties.

Contribute to a high-energy, fast-paced environment that provides visitors with a fun and dynamic experience.

Present with a positive attitude; consistently treat all visitors and team members with respect.

Interact with other front-line teams and effectively communicate internally.

Cross-training in the daily operations of the Customer Service department serves as backup if needed.

Be familiar with the Museum, exhibits, price points, and promotions.
