Description
In this role, you will be responsible for cafe sales and guest experiences. You will be a member of a team that fosters a spirit of performance excellence with a focus on providing great experiences for Museum guests. You will also be responsible for the daily operation of the Café. This position receives regular guidance from the Cafe Associate Lead but reports directly to the Café Manager.
Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES include, but are not limited to the following:

Follow the operating procedures established by the Café Manager.

May be required to assist with packaging food in boxes, trays and other specified serving containers.

May be required to assist with properly storing and labeling food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures.

Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils.
-
Open and close the café which includes operating the cash register and balancing the cash bag as needed.

Present with a positive attitude and greet guests in a welcoming manner.

Prepare food orders quickly and efficiently.

Maintain clean work areas, equipment, and dining room.
-
Adhere to and enforce all Museum policies, procedures, and guiding principles with a strong emphasis on professional behavior and the treatment of others with dignity and respect.

Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

EDUCATION:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to move, bend, stoop, reach, climb, balance, and lift up to 50 pounds.

You must also have the ability to walk, climb stairs, and stand for extended periods.

You must have the ability to work unassisted and be capable of working around dust and cleaning supplies.

Adaptability to extreme temperature conditions; heat, cold, wind, and dampness is required.

You need good manual dexterity as well as the ability to multitask.

Summary
The Grand Rapids Public Museum is the oldest and second-largest museum in Michigan. We are a place of never-ending learning and discovery, with programs and exhibits focusing on history, science, and culture.
