Lift Operator (Summer 2026)

Sun Valley Resort is seeking enthusiastic and safety-focused Lift Operators to joing our team for the summer season. Summer Lift Operators are responsible for the safe loading and unloading of guests and mountain bikes on our chairlifts while providing excellent guest service in a dynamic outdoor environment. This role plays an important part in maintaining safe lift operations and ensuring a positive experience for all mountain guests.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Safely assist guests with loading and unloading mountain bikes on chairlifts

• Monitor lift operations and remain alert for guests who may need assistance while loading or unloading

• Complete pre-operational procedures and safety inspections

• Assist with lift closing procedures at the end of daily operations

• Provide friendly, professional guest service and assist guests with questions or needs

• Work independently or as part of a small team to complete daily operational tasks

• Collaborate with other mountain departments to support safe and efficient operations

• Maintain a safety-first mindset in all aspects of work

• Perform additional duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including sun, rain, heat, and wind

• Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and early morning shifts

• Ability to work the full summer season (June through September)

• Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching

• Ability to safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Operates a portfolio of luxury hotels and mountain resorts.
