ABOUT STEAMAX ENVIROCARE
Steamax Envirocare is a clean energy pioneer helping Indian industries decarbonise their heating operations by switching from fossil fuels to clean biomass fuels. Founded in 2009, Steamax has grown into a trusted name with over 15 years of expertise and a pan-India presence.
Our clients include marquee brands like PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, Britannia, Hindustan Unilever, and UltraTech
Cements, as well as hundreds of SME food processors across India. Our proprietary combustion technologies deliver a payback period of just 6–8 months while cutting fuel costs by up to 50%.
We provide end-to-end solutions: biomass combustion equipment, fuel supply chain management, air
pollution control devices (ESP, Bag Filters), and O&M contracts — including an innovative Steam-as-a-
Service (SaaS) model.Joining Steamax means working at the intersection of engineering, sustainability, and real industrial impact —from Day One.
ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Graduate Engineer Trainee in Design, you will be at the heart of Steamax product development —
translating engineering challenges into smart, manufacturable designs for biomass combustion systems. You
will work closely with senior design engineers to create, refine, and validate drawings for boilers, combustors,
hot air generators, and air pollution control equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop 2D drawings and 3D models for biomass combustion equipment using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings with proper GD&T, tolerances, and BOM (Bill of Materials)
• Design components for combustors, thermic fluid heaters, hot air generators, and bag filters
• Support R&D initiatives
• Conduct design reviews and collaborate with the production team to ensure design-for-manufacturability
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation — design specifications, revision histories, and test
reports
• Assist in vendor evaluation by reviewing supplier drawings and standards compliance
• Work with field teams to incorporate site feedback into improved design iterations
TOOLS & TECHNOLOGIES YOU WILL WORK WITH
• AutoCAD (2D & 3D) • SolidWorks / SolidEdge
• MS Office (Excel, Word) • PDF & Drawing Management
• BOM & ERP Systems • GD&T Standards
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
✓ End-to-end product design lifecycle from concept to commissioning
✓ Thermal and structural fundamentals of combustion systems
✓ How to design for manufacturability and cost efficiency
✓ Boiler and pressure vessel codes (IBR, ASME basics)
✓ Integration of air pollution control devices into system design
✓ How real-world engineering constraints shape design decisions
✓ Cross-functional collaboration between design, production, and site teams
WHY THIS ROLE AT STEAMAX
• Work on real, live products that are installed at Fortune 500 client sites across India
• Exposure to a niche, high-growth sector — industrial biomass energy — with significant career upside
• Mentorship from founders and engineers with decades of experience at companies like Thermax
• Fast-paced startup environment where your designs reach the shop floor within weeks
• Opportunity to innovate — Steamax regularly re-engineers its products for better performance
• Contribute meaningfully to India& clean energy transition from Day One
