General Summary of the Position
The Communications Administrative Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting the efficient functioning of the communications department within our organization. This position involves a combination of administrative tasks, communication coordination, and content management responsibilities. The individual is responsible for managing communication requests, coordinating announcements, and ensuring consistency in messaging across various communication platforms. Additionally, the Communications Administrative Assistant may assist with content creation, proofreading, and editing of communication materials, as well as provide support for various communications tools and platforms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (following are accountabilities included but not limited to):

Provide administrative assistance to the communications department, including managing incoming requests and adding them to our project dashboard, coordinating meetings, and handling communications-related purchases.

Organize and maintain our digital filing systems for communications files and documents, ensuring easy retrieval of information when needed.

Assist in the preparation of weekly newsletters, presentations, and other communication materials.

Act as a liaison between the communications department and internal/external stakeholders.

Assist in content creation, proofreading, and editing for various communication materials, such as emails, SMS, Grace App posts, the website, social media posts, slides, and printed materials.

Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all communication platforms, including campus announcements in partnership with the worship team.

Utilize communication tools and platforms effectively, including, but not limited to Google Suite, WordPress, Church Community Builder, Clearstream, PushPay App Studio, project management software and AI tools. (Training available. Previous knowledge of each platform is not required)

Education, Training, Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or related field is a plus.

Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role.

An understanding of the Christian worldview and the ability to articulate those principles to others
Work or Ministry Team Context:
This position directly assists the Director of Creative and Communications and will support the entire Comms team. It is based out of the Tyler Office of Grace Community Church, with occasional support on Sunday mornings at any of our campuses.
