Staff Engineer, YouTube Shopping

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in B2C or e-commerce software.
• Familiarity with C++ and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with mobile application development.
• Familiarity with YouTube or Google Commerce tech stack.

Responsibilities

• Develop a detailed understanding of Creator needs in the field of YouTube Shopping. Collaborate with Product Managers to support business priorities with technical roadmap.
• Guide the team in producing robust technical designs, translating product requirements into well-defined implementation plans that can be executed on.
• Support the engineering team throughout the entire development cycle, actively participating in design, code and launch reviews, resulting in high-quality features. Conduct data analyses to evaluate the impact of implemented features on key business metrics, contribute to the definition and continuous monitoring of relevant performance indicators.
• Foster collaborative relationships with other YouTube Shopping Team Leads and YouTube platform engineering teams to realize design with best practices within realistic timelines.
