About The Job

The Data Center team takes the physical design of our data centers into the future. Our lab mirrors a research and development department -- cutting-edge strategies are born, tested and tested again. Along with a team of great minds, you work on complex construction delivery topics.

Through your leadership, you use your technical expertise to lead cross-functional teams to develop infrastructure improvements. You will oversee the construction and delivery of our growing network of data centers. Involved in shaping Global Data Center strategies and responsible for regional implementation, you will balance big picture thinking. As a Regional Director at Google, you lead high performing teams that deliver complex, multi-disciplinary construction projects that require extensive engineering and project management expertise. Working with internal client groups, your team will plan and oversee projects from start to finish, from design and build to upgrade and remediate work within the existing data center network. Working with regional partners, our global design and construction teams, you will develop innovative and scalable solutions.

Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.

Responsibilities

  • Be accountable for delivery of all data center construction in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as Asia Pacific markets.
  • Manage teams across existing EMEA and APAC sites as well as new sites.
  • Manage the teams which are responsible for the site-wide delivery of major new construction or improvement projects.
  • Establish and maintain delivery models and global relationships with multiple vendors measuring KPIs and metrics for safety, cost, schedule, quality, and productivity.
  • Travel up to 30% of the time within the EMEA and APAC region.
