Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Google Cloud and DevOps Engineer. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support scalable applications and services. The engineer will build and manage CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and ensure high availability, security, and observability across environments. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating Infrastructure as Code templates, performing system administration on Linux-based systems, monitoring performance, troubleshooting production issues, and collaborating with development teams to optimize application delivery. The role also includes contributing to DevOps best practices, improving release processes, and supporting continuous improvement of cloud and automation workflows.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills, including experience with tools such as Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, or similar.
- Candidates should possess solid Software Development skills, preferably in languages commonly used for DevOps automation (e.g., Python, Go, or JavaScript) and scripting.
- Candidates should possess experience with Continuous Integration practices and tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or CircleCI).
- Candidates should possess System Administration and Linux skills, including managing servers, containers, networking, and security configurations.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services (e.g., Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, IAM) is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Stackdriver/Cloud Monitoring) is preferred.
- Understanding of DevOps principles, site reliability engineering (SRE) practices, and security-by-design approaches is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team.
