Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and improving the condition of Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region (GORR) facilities operating throughout Washington. The Technician is semi-skilled in several trade fields and in addition to performing maintenance projects, the technician completes assigns work orders. The Technician helps to maintain a computerized work order system (Bluefolder), makes decisions on work priorities based on the schedule and direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Maintenance Manager. Preventive maintenance and building improvements include electrical, automatic entry systems, painting, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration, and HVAC projects. The Maintenance Technician understands the importance of working with their customers and that takes pride in meeting and exceeding customer’s expectations.
Hourly Rate: $19.95 - $22.55 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Maintenance Technician responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned:
- Works directly with the Supervisor to assist in maintaining facilities.
- Completes work using an automated work order system such as Bluefolder or similar software.
- Takes an active role in accomplishing tasks and provides leadership to Apprentices and co-workers by modeling initiative, customer service, efficiency, and technical ability.
- Works to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal customers through communication and responsiveness.
- Organize resources and establish priorities for building or remodeling projects.
- Inspect buildings, grounds, equipment and fixtures to determine needs for maintenance or repair.
- Perform construction, maintenance and repair work on facilities including painting, plumbing, electrical, automatic entry systems, refrigeration equipment, and HVAC systems.
- Repair or alter buildings, facilities, and other structures from plans, sketches, written or oral instructions.
- Install, maintain and repair plumbing, electrical, and other systems and equipment in buildings and utility distribution systems.
- Operate construction tools, equipment and power tools.
- Follows safe work practices.
