Job Summary

The Sustainability Data Entry Associate supports Goodwill NWNC’s sustainability and carbon footprint tracking efforts by collecting, reviewing, validating, and entering environmental data into Excel worksheets and the Pulsora GHG software platform. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data across Scope 1, Scope 2, and selected Scope 3 categories, including utilities, waste, transportation, and vendor related emissions.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Data Collection & Review

  • Reviews invoices, statements, and reports (utilities, fuel, waste, transportation, and vendor services) to verify accuracy, completeness, and required data fields.
  • Identifies missing, incorrect, or inconsistent information and flag issues for follow‑up.
  • Organizes documentation to support carbon accounting and sustainability reporting requirements.

Data Entry & Management

  • Enters verified data into standardized Excel worksheets used for Pulsora uploads.
  • Ensures correct units of measure, dates, locations, and categorization align with GHG reporting standards.
  • Uploads data into the Pulsora GHG platform according to established internal processes.
  • Maintains version control and data organization for tracking and audit purposes.

Quality Control & Accuracy

  • Performs routine data quality checks to ensure consistency between invoices, Excel files, and Pulsora entries.
  • Supports corrections and updates to previously entered data when errors or changes are identified.
  • Assists with data reconciliation across reporting periods.

Collaboration & Support

  • Works closely with Sustainability, Finance, Facilities, and Operations teams to obtain required data.
  • Supports internal sustainability initiatives by providing accurate emissions data for dashboards and reporting.
  • Assists with documentation needed for sustainability presentations and internal reviews.

 

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or coursework in sustainability, business, accounting, or data management preferred.

 

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years’ experience in data entry, highly preferred. 
  • Must have general familiarity with reviewing invoices, utility bills and/or financial/operations documents.

  • Experience with sustainability data, carbon accounting, or environmental reporting, preferred.

  • Familiarity with GHG emissions categories (Scope 1, 2, and 3), preferred.

  • Experience working with sustainability or ESG software platforms (Pulsora or similar), preferred.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel capability (data entry, formulas, data validation)

  • Strong Communication skills – written and verbal

  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail

  • Ability to follow structured processes and meet deadlines

  • Comfort handling large data sets and repetitive accuracy focused tasks

  • Organizational and Time-Management Skills

  • Customer Service Skills with attention to collaboration and responsiveness

  • Data Accuracy and integrity
