OBJECTIVE
To participate in the daily operations of Gompers’ Front Desk. To ensure that efficient and courteous service is given. To perform typing and clerical duties as requested by Administrative Staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- To participate in the daily operations of the Front Desk.
- Provide clerical assistance to the Director of Programs and Services, Executive Director, Director of Human Resources and other Administrative Staff.
- Assist CFO with purchasing and distribution of supplies.
- Other duties as requested by the Director of Programs and Services, Executive Director, Director of Human Resources and other Administrative Staff.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None.
AUTHORITY
This person shall have the authority to commence and carry out the responsibilities of this position subject to the verbal and written limitations of the Director of Programs and Services, Executive Director and/or the Director of Human Resources.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Applicant shall possess a minimum of a high school diploma.
Should have two years secretarial experience and be able to type 55 wpm corrected.
Experience with office machines including copy machine, fax machine, calculator, and other equipment available in the office.
Applicant must understand filing system, general office procedures.
Must be able to communicate effectively in person and on the phone and have good telephone decorum.
Must have good spelling skills and the ability to communicate and get along well with other staff members, guests, and members.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Bilingual is a plus, but not required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Basic calculations.
REASONING ABILITY Basic common sense and ability to multi-task.
