Golf School District 67 is seeking a student-centered, collaborative, and enthusiastic EL Teacher to join the staff at Golf Middle School. The ideal candidate is an expert in language acquisition who uses data to bridge the gap between English proficiency and academic success while managing the full cycle of EL services. ROLE OVERVIEW

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Licensure: Must hold an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL).
- Endorsement: Required English as a Second Language (EL) endorsement for the specific grade level being serviced.
- LBS1 Endorsement: Preferred but not required.
- Specialized Knowledge: Deep understanding of WIDA standards and the ACCESS assessment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & GOALS
- Instructional Planning & Design: Implement district-approved curriculum aligned with Illinois Learning and WIDA English Language Development standards, modifying materials to meet individual student needs.
- Adaptive Delivery: Provide engaging instruction through pull-out and push-in models, differentiating lessons based on real-time student progress.
- Assessment & Tracking: Administer ACCESS and district-level assessments, tracking student growth toward learning targets and sharing results with stakeholders.
- Family & Multilingual Outreach: Support engagement efforts for multilingual families and maintain regular communication with teachers and parents.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, optimal learning environment by managing student behavior and physical space.
- Active Supervision: Monitor students in classrooms, on playgrounds, and during field trips.
- Mandated Reporting: Report incidents including student behaviors and suspected abuse or substance abuse in accordance with Board Policy.
- Professional Conduct: Attend meetings to support student learning and stay current with emerging research and best practices in EL instruction.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Physical Demands: Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling; some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
- Mobility: Generally requires 45% walking, 45% standing, and 10% sitting.
- Environment: Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor settings (weather permitting) under varying temperature conditions in a generally hazard-free environment.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary Range
Salary will be established in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the Board of Education and the Golf Teachers and Support Staff Union Local 1274. The specific range is determined based on the candidate's education level and years of experience.
