Business Unit Overview Controllers group is responsible for the integrity of the firm's financial, management and regulatory reporting. We play a critical role in collaborating with our businesses in providing analysis and advice on accounting, valuation, capital, liquidity and other regulatory considerations. Controllers serves an important role in safeguarding the assets of the firm through the independent scrutiny of financial information. Controllers is organised into several specialised functional groups, including Product Control,Regulatory Controllers, Corporate Controllers, Asset Wealth Management (AWM) Controllers,Financial Reporting and Risk Governance. Eligibility criteria: Qualifications and key competencies: Bachelor's/Master's/Professional degree in Finance or Accounting related field. Prior experience in controller role, financial reporting or similar function within financial services/banking industry. High level of integrity and professionalism. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office products, in particular Excel. Key responsibilities Gain a good understanding of the core deliverables within your role and ensure their successful execution. For more information on specific teams, please refer to the next section. Monitor and analyse financial data to support timely and accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders. Assess and identify control gaps if any and proactively escalate. Strengthen internal controls and participate in process improvement initiatives in mitigating the risks. Perform critical analysis including detailed variance analysis, flux commentaries, supporting annexures. Gain an understanding of underlying business drivers and insights that indicate financial performance and decision-making. Collaborate with other teams to understand their requirements and assist in project delivery. Assist in the various compliance and regulatory requirements including audit work. About Controllers' specialised teams: Product Control – prepare and report daily P&L of the trading desk, assist in reviewing new trade activity of the desks, assist in daily/monthly price verification, prepare commentaries in explaining P&L. Regulatory Controllers – Assist in preparing regulatory reports, regulatory filings, comply with the requirements of various regulatory framework, monitoring regulatory updates. AWM controllers – prepare financial statements of various funds, assist in NAV calculations, assist in performance analysis of fund, engage in corporate, regulatory and management reporting for funds, work closely with fund administrators and auditors. Corporate controllers – prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements ensuring compliance with accounting standards and respective legal entity requirements, monitor balance sheet movements, inter company reconciliations, balance sheet substantiation. Risk Governance - engage in initiatives related to the firm & risk management program, governance initiatives, assist in measurement and mitigation of firmwide financial reporting risks.
