Divisional Overview Global Investment Research (GIR) provides investment recommendations by generating fundamental research and analysis of companies, industries, markets and economies. The Macro Research team focuses on the intersection between economics and financial markets across a wide class of assets including equities, fixed income/credit, currencies, and commodities. Role Overview We are seeking an analyst to join the US Economics team in Bengaluru. Working closely with the chief US economist and other members of the US Economics team, analysts will: Job Responsibilities Analyze and interpret high-frequency economic data releases Develop and maintain the team's forecasting models and other proprietary economic indicators Work with the economists on the team on economic research projects and publications Publish occasional research pieces of their own Work with colleagues in sales and trading and investment banking as well as external clients to answer questions and explain the team's views Preferred Qualifications Strong interest in macroeconomics Bachelor's or Master degree required, preferably in Economics, Statistics, Math, or Computer Science Strong analytical skills and understanding of statistical analysis, ideally with coursework in econometrics Knowledge of computer programming Excellent written and verbal communication Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to work both autonomously and in a team setting
