Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team. As an SRE at Goldcast, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the reliability, performance, and scalability of our platform. You will work closely with our development and operations teams to ensure the seamless operation of our infrastructure and services.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure and services to ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability.
2. Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell, Python, Go, or other scripting languages to streamline operational tasks.
3. Manage and optimize AWS components, including ECS, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, Elasticache, and others.
4. Implement and manage container orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.) for efficient deployment and scaling of applications.
5. Administer and tune SQL/NoSQL databases (RDS, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Snowflake) to ensure optimal performance.
6. Utilize Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible for efficient infrastructure management.
7. Debug and resolve issues in large-scale distributed systems, including load balancing, monitoring, and logging.
8. Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting services for infrastructure using tools like New Relic and Prometheus.
9. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.
10. Ensure adherence to software engineering best practices, including automation and continuous integration/continuous delivery.
11. Maintain and optimize operating systems (Linux), networking, and security configurations.
12. Participate in code reviews and on-call rotations.
13. Mentor junior engineers.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. Minimum 2 years of work experience in a Site Reliability Engineer or similar role.
2. Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Shell, Python, Go, etc.).
3. Experience with AWS components such as ECS, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, Elasticache, etc.
4. Experience with container orchestration tools and Docker.
5. Proficient in administering and tuning SQL/NoSQL databases (RDS, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Snowflake).
6. Proficiency in one or more Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, etc.).
7. Experience with infrastructure monitoring and alerting tools (NewRelic, Prometheus etc.)
8. Understanding and experience with SRE best practices and tools (Automation, CI/CD using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
9. Good knowledge of operating systems (Linux), networking, and security.
10. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
11. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
12. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment..
