What We're Looking For
We're seeking a Senior AI Engineer to lead AI projects at Goldcast, driving the development and deployment of cutting-edge AI solutions that enhance our video content platform. This includes innovative solutions like our Agentic Video Editor, Automatic Video Clipping or Highlight Reels. This role requires a strong background in Generative AI (GenAI), Large Language Models (LLMs), and software engineering. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in AI/ML, a proven track record of delivering complex AI projects, and the ability to architect and implement high-quality, scalable software solutions.

Core Responsibilities

1. Take full ownership of complex AI projects with ambiguous requirements, ensuring successful delivery and business impact.
2. Partner with external stakeholders like QA, SREs, PMs, and designers to deliver high-quality AI-driven features and systems.
3. Design and implement advanced AI/ML algorithms, including but not limited to automated video summarization, scene detection, content-aware editing, and other AI-driven features.
4. Make sound architectural and design decisions for AI systems, balancing business needs, user experience, reliability, and maintainability.
5. Mentor junior engineers on AI implementation, and engineering best practices.
6. Co-own the health and quality of AI systems in production, driving root cause analysis and improvements to enhance system reliability and customer satisfaction.
7. Act as the go-to person for AI-related systems within the team and own communication with stakeholders regarding AI initiatives

Required Experience & Skills

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML from a top-tier institution (IITs, NITs, BITs, or equivalent). PhD a plus.
2. 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years focused on AI/ML systems.
3. Experience building and deploying production-grade AI systems, particularly with LLMs and generative AI
4. Strong expertise in GenAI, LLMs, and AI/ML, with deep understanding of LLM capabilities, limitations, and optimization techniques.
5. Hands-on experience with modern AI frameworks and tools (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, etc.)
6. Understanding of vector databases, embedding systems, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines.
7. Strong background in system design, API design, and microservices architecture.
8. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to simplify complex requirements.
10. A product mindset, with a focus on delivering business value through technical solutions.
11. A continuous learning attitude, staying updated with the latest advancements in AI/ML.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
2. Experience with real-time video processing and editing technologies.
3. Experience designing and implementing agent-based AI systems
4. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
5. Experience in building and scaling AI-driven products in a startup environment.
