The offered salary range for this position is $43,000-$52,000 and will depend on an applicant's education.

Position Duties
The Gwinnett, Newton and Rockdale County Health Department is seeking a qualified candidate who, under supervision, will serve as a Communicable Disease Specialist for the HIV Prevention Program. The incumbent will be responsible for: conducting timely disease intervention functions to control and prevent infectious diseases; providing health education to patients, their partners, clinicians and other community members; counseling patients on their diagnosis and potential treatment options; conducting patient interviews and other epidemiological data; performing investigations to gather information using an array of resources; and coordinating testing and treatment for infected and affected individuals.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum:
Associate degree in medical and preventive services from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of experience in a related field.
Preferred:
Experience as a communicable disease investigator working with STD /HIV programs. Experience working in a Public Health, medical or Community Based Organization setting. Completion of Passport to Partner Services. At least two years of experience working with Microsoft Office. Experience with SENDSS or other disease reporting software. Experience providing education to individuals and/or groups. Bilingual in English & Spanish preferred.
