This position is located within the District Office Finance Department.
The offered salary range for this position is $40,000-$45,000.
Position Duties
Job Summary: Under general supervision, this position performs a variety of accounting and fiscal support functions in compliance with established policies, procedures, and accounting standards. The role supports daily financial operations while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality.
- Process financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Monitor budgets and assist with tracking expenditures and available funding
- Reconcile financial records and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate and organized fiscal documentation in accordance with recordkeeping requirements
- Review and process employee travel reimbursements, ensuring compliance with applicable policies and guidelines
- Provide administrative and operational support, including records management and data entry
- Deliver responsive customer service to internal and external customers regarding financial inquiries
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of job-related accounting or fiscal experience; or one (1) year of
experience at the lower level Accounting Technician2 (FIT021) or position equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, including use of spreadsheets, formulas, and reporting functions.
2 or more years experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, or other fiscal transactions in a government environment.
2 or more years experience providing internal and external customer service in a professional office setting.
Experience using accounting, financial systems (such as PeopleSoft, TeamWorks, Oracle, or similar systems).
Experience supporting month-end, quarter-end, or fiscal year-end close processes.
Experience with budget tracking, expenditure monitoring, and reconciliation of financial records.
Experience working in a government, public sector, or state agency accounting environment.
Experience maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
Experience processing purchase orders, invoices, and payment requests.
Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
