Role Description The GNM Staff Nurse will provide patient-centered nursing care in a rural and semi-urban setting, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing patients, administering medications and treatments, maintaining accurate medical records, assisting in basic procedures, and coordinating with doctors and other healthcare team members. The nurse will also participate in community outreach activities, health education sessions, and preventive care initiatives aligned with Sukarma Foundation’s mission. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Gadarwara, with primary duties performed on-site and some administrative, documentation, or coordination tasks carried out from home as needed.
Qualifications
- Recognized General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) qualification and valid registration with the appropriate nursing council.
- Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, basic nursing procedures, medication administration, and infection control.
- Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams, including in rural community settings.
- Commitment to community health, preventive care, and working with underserved populations in resource-limited environments.
- Basic computer literacy for maintaining electronic records, reporting, and coordination of care.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed, travel locally for outreach, and adapt to evolving program needs.
- Prior experience in rural health, NGO work, or community-based healthcare is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated integrity, empathy, and resilience, with a willingness to learn and contribute to Sukarma Foundation’s mission.
