At Bellatrix Aerospace, we are building next-generation in-space propulsion and mobility solutions that are redefining the future of space transportation. Our mission is to enable sustainable and efficient access to space through cutting-edge engineering and innovation. Join a team of passionate engineers and innovators working on technologies that power the future of the global space industry.
Role Overview
Youโll contribute to our capabilities by designing and developing robust, state-of-the-art navigation algorithms for the most demanding operational scenarios.
Youโll implement algorithms in MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++, integrate them within multidisciplinary HW/SW teams and carry out validation activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the design and implementation of the AOCS/GNC subsystem for a wide variety of satellites/spacecrafts.
- Design, synthesis, test, implementation, verification, and validation of GNC algorithms. Derivation of requirements from system specifications.
- Implement the GNC code in the lab-tests and into the Flight Software.
- Develop high fidelity Estimation and Identification models in simulations for analysis. Perform stability, convergence, and robustness analysis.
- Perform in-lab sensor calibration and actuator characterization for GNC subsystems. Generate report post-analysis.
- Perform design, optimization, and reliability study.
- AOCS/GNC hardware specification, selection, modelling, and simulation.
- Develop software automation tools for GNC test case analysis.
- Perform software-in-loop, hardware-in-loop, and Monte Carlo analysis.
- Documentation of the developments, analysis, and test reports.
What we would like to see from you
- Masterโs in Aerospace or Electrical or Electronics or related engineering discipline. A Ph.D. will be preferred more. Industrial/Academic experience post-PhD will be given even more preference.
- Strong understanding of Estimation Theory, Modern Control Theory, Sensor Fusion, Kalman Filtering, Visual Odometry, and experience in Guidance & Navigation Law development. Exposure to UKF, CKF, PF is a plus.
- Strong understanding of Mathematics, and First Principles of Physics.
- Experience in handling hardware and the simulations of filtering algorithms.
- Software development experience in C/C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink, and git.
- Highly motivated to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up environment.
