ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for an accomplished, hands-on sales leader to head our South India sales operations as General Manager — Sales (South India), based at our Bengaluru office. The GM will own the regional revenue P&L across five states — Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana — leading and scaling a team of state-level Business Development Managers and channel partners.
This is a high-ownership leadership role with direct exposure to the founders, influence over franchise expansion strategy, and accountability for the largest geographic territory in India's EV charging market. The right candidate will combine strong frontline sales instincts with the operating discipline to run a five-state team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Revenue & P&L
• Own the South India top-line target — monthly, quarterly and annual sales numbers across all five states.
• Build, defend and report the regional sales forecast, pipeline coverage, and deal-stage hygiene.
• Personally negotiate and close high-value franchise partnerships, B2B corporate fleet contracts and key strategic accounts.
Team Leadership
• Hire, manage and mentor state-level BDMs across Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
• Set state-wise KPIs, run weekly pipeline reviews, conduct field ride-alongs and call audits.
• Drive performance, coach under-performers, and build a winning regional sales culture.
Strategy & Go-to-Market
• Define state-by-state expansion strategy — territory mapping, partner profiling, pricing and competitive positioning.
• Identify and unlock new B2B segments: fleet operators, malls, hotels, tech parks, fuel-station chains, real-estate developers and tourism hubs.
• Coordinate with Marketing on regional lead generation, vernacular creative (Malayalam / Tamil / Kannada / Telugu) and event/exhibition presence.
Partnerships & Key Accounts
• Build and maintain relationships with state government bodies, EV-policy stakeholders and DISCOMs — BESCOM, KSEB, TANGEDCO, APSPDCL, TSSPDCL and EESL.
• Personally own and grow the top 10 strategic accounts in the region.
• Represent Pixell Energy at industry events, EV expos and panel discussions across South India.
Cross-Functional Liaison
• Work closely with Engineering, Civil and Operations teams to ensure smooth site handover and customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate with Finance on franchise documentation, partner payments and ROI reviews.
• Provide structured market feedback to the Product team on charger configurations, pricing and competitive intelligence.
Reporting & Governance
• Direct reporting line to the CEO / Founder.
• Maintain weekly dashboards, monthly business reviews and quarterly board presentations.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
• 10 – 14 years of progressive B2B sales experience, with at least the last 4 years in a sales-leadership / team-management role.
• Demonstrable track record of building and managing field sales teams across multiple South Indian states.
• Fluent in English; conversational proficiency in at least two of Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the five states — approximately 10 to 15 days per month.
• Currently based in Bengaluru or willing to relocate.
PREFERRED (BIG PLUS)
• Prior experience in EV charging, clean energy, solar, fuel-retail, automotive, infrastructure, franchise sales, real-estate or industrial-product sales.
• Existing network across the South India dealer / channel-partner ecosystem.
• Experience scaling sales in a high-growth startup environment (3× revenue or above).
• MBA from a Tier-1 or Tier-2 institute.
