Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Delhi, India for a GM – Projects (MEP) with a strong hotel construction background. The role involves overseeing the planning, design, execution, and commissioning of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems for hotel and mixed-use projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
The GM – Projects (MEP), reporting to Directors, will coordinate with architects, structural engineers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers, and manage tendering, contract negotiations, and technical evaluations. Daily responsibilities include supervising site activities, monitoring installation and testing of MEP works, resolving technical issues, ensuring compliance with safety codes and regulatory requirements, and implementing energy-efficient and sustainable solutions. The role also requires preparing project reports, presenting progress updates to senior leadership, mentoring project teams, and contributing to continuous improvement in project management practices.
Apart from under-construction projects, he will be responsible for existing buildings such as High-rise societies, shopping malls, and commercial buildings etc.
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
- Strong expertise in MEP systems design, installation, and commissioning for hotel or large-scale commercial projects, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
- Proven 18-22 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, cost control, budget management, and resource allocation for complex construction projects.
- Ability to manage vendor and contractor relationships, oversee tendering and procurement processes, and conduct technical and commercial evaluations.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes, safety regulations, quality standards, and sustainable construction and energy-efficiency practices.
- Experience in hotel construction or hospitality projects, with a track record of delivering high-end developments from concept to completion.
- Strong leadership, team management, and stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional project teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Ability to work on-site in Delhi, India, with readiness to visit project locations regularly and handle multiple sites
