Job Description: General Manager – Medical Affairs
Location: Mumbai
Reports to: India Business Head
About the Role
The General Manager of Medical Affairs will lead the medical affairs strategy, providing robust medico-marketing support and facilitating seamless collaboration between medical and marketing teams. This role focuses on developing medical materials, training programs, and evaluating new products to ensure alignment with business goals and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Medico-Marketing & Strategy: Provide medical data for product positioning and new product development (NPD). Offer strategic advice on promotional activities to ensure accurate messaging.
- Content Development: Prepare comprehensive product manuals, monographs, training slides, and Continuing Medical Education (CME) materials.
- Product & Market Evaluation: Assess new product ideas and conduct competitive analysis of rival products and strategies.
- Training & Education: Conduct medical training sessions for field staff to enhance knowledge of therapeutic areas.
- Clinical & Market Intelligence: Participate in clinical studies and monitor industry trends and emerging science to drive strategic decisions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals to enhance brand credibility.
- Departmental Oversight: Develop and manage the medical affairs budget.
Qualifications
- Education: Advanced degree in life sciences (MBBS, MD) or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years in medical affairs, specifically in marketing support and product evaluation.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and clinical development processes.
Required Skills
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and work collaboratively.
