Responsibilities
About The Role:
Develop, maintain, and administer the IT Change Control tool, policy, processes, methodologies, reporting and documentation for introducing changes into the IT production environment. This will include managing changes and mitigating the risks involved to business production data, reports, processes and policies surrounding Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance, and IT hardware, software applications, databases, and any ITS initiative involving a change or addition to the production environment. This team member interacts with various levels of Management, Call Centers, all IT departments and support teams, as well as the business and vendors.
In this role you will:
- Administer and maintain ownership of the IT Change Control Process
- Develop new ideas and strategies to enhance operational activities
- Ensure that the Change Control Process functions smoothly and efficiently, and that all process guidelines are followed
- Administer and communicate changes to the GM Financial IT and Business environments
- Monitor all Change Requests and Change Tickets for completeness
- Maintain final approval and scheduling of all changes
- Chair and facilitate the IT Change Advisory Board meetings (CAB)
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly metrics and compliance reports
- Propose and create new or enhanced reporting and metrics
- Maintain the internal Change Control website
- Maintain the SharePoint Change Control website
- Provide on-going support through answers and training regarding the Change Control Tool and Process
- Provide first Level support on Change Management ITSM software application issues
- Facilitate periodic meetings and training as needed to support groups to include, question and answer sessions, current initiatives, process changes and updates, etc.
- Develop and implement formal and informal training on the Change Management Process
- Assist in special assignments or projects as needed
- Provide effective communication of Change Control activities, both written and verbal, to IT Management
Qualifications
What Makes You an Ideal Candidate?
- Intermediate level knowledge of business processes
- Expanded knowledge of security methodologies, policies, standards, and best practices
- Some knowledge of best practices in information technology governance and regulatory landscape for financial institutions
- Knowledge of GM Financial's core business functions
- Knowledge of the consumer loan business
- Knowledge of system applications
- ITIL Foundations Certification preferred
- Understanding of ITIL Change Management principles and methodologies
- Broad knowledge base spanning multiple ITS and Business disciplines
- Intermediate knowledge using ITSM software applications with Change Management
- Expanded knowledge of SharePoint Services
- Some knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27000, NIST, FFIEC, etc.)
- Intermediate knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure, and operations
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
- Experience in technology solution design, development or implementation beneficialStrong in the use of Microsoft Office software
- Ability to meet expected delivery dates and the tasks necessary to achieve objectives
- Strong ability to analyze data using Excel for reporting and data mining purposes
- Ability to interact with staff at all levels
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong people skills
- Must be a self-starter and able to manage the investigations function with minimal supervision
- Experience with data visualization concepts and tools
- Advanced computer skills and conversance in information technology issues
- Ability to work directly with senior level management
Education and Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in IT Change Management or related position Pref
- High School Diploma
- Associate Degree
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience specifically relating to position Required
- Master’s Degree
