Role Description The GM Finance will oversee the financial strategy, planning, and operations of Velammal Educational Trust, ensuring the effective management of budgets, cash flow, and financial controls. This full-time, on-site role based in Chennai includes leading the finance team, preparing and reviewing financial statements and reports, and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. The role involves managing audits, monitoring cost efficiency across institutions, and providing financial insights to support strategic decisions of senior leadership. The GM Finance will also be responsible for developing and implementing financial policies, optimizing resource allocation, and coordinating with banks, auditors, and other external stakeholders. Regular collaboration with academic and administrative heads is expected to align financial planning with institutional growth and sustainability.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in financial management, budgeting, and financial planning, with the ability to oversee large-scale institutional finances.
- Proficiency in accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in audit coordination, internal controls, and risk management for complex, multi-unit organizations.
- Ability to lead and mentor finance teams, drive process improvements, and implement efficient financial systems and workflows.
- Advanced skills in financial analysis, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making using enterprise finance tools and software.
- Relevant professional qualification CMA or Inter CA
- Experience in the education sector or other large trust/non-profit environments is an advantage.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership and external partners.
