IIT-Madras is seeking candidates for the position of General Manager/Associate Vice President, in its Office of Institutional Advancement. The position is in the IIT Madras Alumni Charitable Trust, an organization that closely works with IIT Madras to help with fundraising and corporate engagement. This is a full-time position, and the selected candidate would be working from Mumbai in coordination with the Corporate Relations team at IIT Madras, Chennai. The selected candidate would engage with the industries/corporate in and around Mumbai, to raise funds for IIT Madras – its research, infrastructure, student scholarships, Centres of Excellence, etc.
The selected candidate would be reporting to the Senior VP, Corporate Relations at Chennai and is expected to travel to IIT Madras and spend time on campus, as and when required.
Role Description
The Associate Vice President (AVP) of CSR Fundraising for the Mumbai Region will secure partnerships and funding from corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Responsibilities include identifying potential corporate partners, building strong relationships with stakeholders, and delivering impactful pitches for project funding.
Responsibilities.
- Identify Corporates with substantial CSR spends and engage them to fund education, research, support innovation and create infrastructure in IIT Madras.
- Keep up to date on all notifications from various government ministries especially Ministry of Corporate Affairs that are relevant to CSR.
- Identify and engage with large Trusts and Foundations and enable them to fund scientific and educational initiatives in IIT Madras.
- Work with large corporates on funding for various infrastructures like labs, buildings etc. with naming rights benefit.
- Initiate/coordinate/steer/conclude meetings between CSR corporates/donors and teams from IIT Madras.
- Maintain a database of socially relevant projects (SRP) at IIT Madras by continually interacting with faculty and working with them on SRP proposals.
- Organize and conduct CSR-themed networking events like summits, conferences, workshops, etc.
Qualifications and Experience
- Any Graduate/Post-graduate Degree.
- At least 10-12 years’ proven experience in CSR Fundraising/Donor Acquisition/Sales/Business Development.
- Exceptional Analytical Skills for assessing funding opportunities, strategizing campaigns, and evaluating donor engagement strategies.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to grasp underlying technical aspects of research proposals would be a definite advantage.
