We’re opening 2 fellowship spots at the GLSN Media Lab for emerging video storytellers.
But instead of a traditional application, we’re trying something different.
We’re inviting editors to participate in a Creative Editor Challenge.
At the Global Learning Space Network (GLSN), we've recorded powerful speaker session from our Annual PULSE Conference and these sessions feature educators, architects, and designers exploring the future of learning environments and 'Educational Architecture'.
Inside these long conversations are powerful insights waiting to be transformed into compelling digital stories.
So here’s the challenge.
We will share a short raw clip from one of our conference conversations.
Your task will be to:
- Create a clean edited clip (1–2 minutes) from the footage.
- Create one engaging vertical reel (30–45 seconds) from the same content.
We are not looking for flashy effects.
We are looking for storytelling instinct.
How you identify powerful moments, structure the edit, and hold attention matters more than technical complexity.
The best submission will be invited to join the GLSN Media Lab Fellowship – Video Storytelling Fellow.
What the fellow receives:
• Mentorship from experienced editors and storytellers
• GLSN Media Lab Fellowship Certificate
• Letter of Recommendation
• Public credit for published edits on GLSN platforms
• Portfolio-worthy projects created from real conference footage
• Exposure to a thoughtful community of educators, architects, and designers
The fellowship is designed especially for early career creators, students, and emerging editors who want to build meaningful work.
Mode: Remote
Duration: 6–8 weeks
Time commitment: Flexible (~8–10 hours/week)
If you would like to participate in the challenge, send us a short introduction and links to any edits you have done. Be as creative as you can with the short introduction. We'll notice your storytelling style.
We will share the raw footage with shortlisted participants.
