Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Global Sourcing Engineer with a strong manufacturing industry background and mechanical engineering knowledge. The candidate will be responsible for global sourcing activities, vendor development, RFQ management, supply chain coordination, and procurement of engineering components, especially sheet metal and mechanical parts.
The ideal candidate should possess strong technical understanding of engineering drawings, supplier management, cost optimization, and sourcing strategies to support manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement global sourcing and procurement strategies for mechanical and manufacturing components.
- Analyse engineering drawings, technical specifications, and BOMs for sourcing activities.
- Handle RFQ (Request for Quotation) process including vendor communication, quotation analysis, and price negotiation.
- Should share ECN for current production part drawings with supplier and get quote then update price details in system.
- Should have knowledge of sheet metal and machining manufacturing process.
- Should have knowledge of Zero-based costing for above manufacturing process.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop domestic and international vendors/suppliers.
- Manage procurement of sheet metal, fabricated, machined, and mechanical components.
- Coordinate with production, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams for timely material availability.
- Perform supplier performance evaluation based on quality, cost, delivery, and compliance.
- Ensure cost optimization and continuous improvement in sourcing processes.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships and negotiate commercial terms.
- Work with ERP/SAP systems for procurement and supply chain activities.
- Monitor inventory planning and supply chain coordination to avoid shortages and delays.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and company procurement policies.
Required Skills:

- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering concepts
- Ability to analyse engineering drawings
- Knowledge of sheet metal components and manufacturing processes
- Experience in RFQ handling and cost analysis
- Vendor development and supplier management
- Supply chain management knowledge
- Global sourcing and procurement experience
- Understanding of machining, fabrication, casting, or manufacturing processes
- ERP/SAP knowledge preferred
Preferred Industry Background:

Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering / production engineering / industrial engineering.
- Additional certification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Global Sourcing is an added advantage.
Experience:
- 2 years of experience in Global Sourcing / Procurement / Supply Chain within the manufacturing industry.
- Experience in handling international suppliers and vendor management.
- Prior experience in sourcing mechanical components, sheet metal, fabricated parts, machined components, castings, or industrial products preferred.
