About the role
We're looking for an entry-level Data Scientist that is a software engineer to help us design, build, and test AI-driven solutions, with a particular focus on symbolic AI, reasoning systems, and intelligent automation. You will work closely with senior AI engineers and product teams to turn conceptual models into reliable, production-grade solutions to be integrated into Agentic workflows and diverse memory stores. Additionally, this role will facilitate quality assurance by incorporating AI and ML solution evaluations and analysis into the QA process. This role will be key to our AI strategy and reports to the Director of AI, ML and Data Science. They will work closely with key engineers in the development of our AI platform.
The expectation is that this position will spend one day per week working from our Louisville, CO office.

Essential Duties:
Develop symbolic AI solutions using common logic programming frameworks (e.g. Prolog, Datalog, etc.)
Integration of AI solutions into overall AI (e.g. GenAI, LLMs) and knowledge graph frameworks.
Translate AI solution evaluation methods into QA tooling.
Design novel evaluation methods, and associated QA tooling, to address shortcomings in assuring customer success of AI products.
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to identify symbolic and GenAI opportunities.
Develop basic automated data pipelines serving AI, ML and Data science models and applications.
Understand and maintain AWS deployment technologies
Adhere to sound software engineering practices
Develop robust reusable software infrastructure components
Share results with stakeholders and broader organizational community in an easily accessible and understandable manner.
Competencies:
Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on reusable software development
Interest in logic programming and/or QA tooling (Prolog, PyLog, Datadog, etc.)
Experience with data-oriented programming languages (Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
Experience using version control systems such as Git, unit and integration testing
Experience with Docker 2
Experience working with and creating data structures and abstract data types
Good written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams
A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
