The Opportunity
Hitachi Energy is strengthening its ownership of electronic component data to enable transparency, lifecycle governance, and supply chain risk mitigation across its global portfolio. As
Global Component Data Lead – Electronics, you will beresponsible for creating and governing a
single, Hitachi Energy–owned source of truth for electronic components.This role establishes end-to-end control of
component BOMs (cBOM), Approved Manufacturer Lists (AML), lifecycle status, multisourcing, and spend visibility, bridging R&D, Product Management, Supply Chain, and EMS partners. The role acts as the
functional owner of component intelligence, forming the foundation for a future

How You’ll Make An Impact
- Establish and maintain central ownership of the electronic cob across all Business Units.
- Consolidate component data from: R&D BOMs and AMLs
- Product Management (forecast, lifecycle inputs)
- EMS BOMs and price data
- Supply Chain (cost and spend consolidation)
- Ensure accurate component structures, attributes, and relationships are maintained consistently
- Define and enforce global AML standards for electronic components
- Maintain approved manufacturers, form‑fit‑function alternates, and double/multi‑source strategies
- Own component lifecycle estimation (introduction, maturity, risk, EOL)
- Align component lifecycle and sourcing risk with engineering and product decisions
- Lead internal data collection from all Business Units
- Translate fragmented component data into a single internal governance solution.
- Short‑term: structured internal reporting (PowerPoint / dashboards).
- Ensure EMS component data is aligned with Hitachi Energy AML and lifecycle standards.
- Interface with external component intelligence tools (e.g. SiliconExpert, LevaData, Lytica) to enrich risk, lifecycle, and compliance data.
- Provide annual component spend visibility across EMS and businesses.
- Geopolitical and supply chain risk.
- Allocation and obsolescence risks.
- Support compliance, audit readiness, and long-term product sustainability.
- Ensure proper change management, data accuracy, and governance are followed.
- Act as the functional authority for component data ahead of PLM implementation.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, Supply Chain, Data Engineering, or related field.
- Solid experience in component engineering, PLM, BOM/AML management, supply chain, or strategic sourcing.
- Proven ability to work with complex BOM structures and component data.
- Experience interacting with EMS partners is highly preferred.
- Exposure to PLM systems (e.g. Windchill or equivalent) is a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical and systems-thinking mindset.
- Ability to translate complex data into governance-ready structures.
- Excellent stakeholder management across global, cross-functional teams.
- High attention to detail with strong ownership mentality.
- Comfortable working in evolving, ambiguous environments.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
