About the role
About the Department
Glenville State University is looking for a highly motivated coach or aspiring coach, to serve as graduate assistant for the university's Division II Track and Cross Country program. The candidate will report to the head coach, and serve a 10-month annual appointment.
Position Duties
- Meet Day and event planning.
- Heavy emphasis on recruiting.
- Assisting the head coach in daily practice planning.
- Assisting the head coach in the execution of necessary administrative detail within the athletic department.
- Assisting the program in academic success, maintaining a strong relationship with the institution's student Success Center.
- The candidate will supervise all aspects of the program's throwing corps.
Minimum Qualifications

- Registered and enrolled in a graduate degree program at an institution that has a working agreement with Glenville State's GA program.
- An undergraduate degree.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Sound interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Solid written and verbal skills.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Strong knowledge in all areas of the throwing events.
Basic Position Benefits- Lodging in campus housing.
- $1000 food stipend in the campus dining hall ($500 per semester).
- $4000 salary stipend ($2000 per semester).
- One graduate class per semester to be paid for – valued at $1434 per semester and $2868 per year.
- Must be registered for at least nine hours per semester.
