Director of Maintenance
 
River Landing at Sandy Ridge, a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), is seeking a Director of Maintenance. If you enjoy being part of a team environment and possess initiative, a heart for service, and enthusiasm, we want you.
 
Responsibilities include: Organize, direct, and supervise operations of community and the maintenance and repair programs involving buildings and grounds. Coordinate maintenance and repair activities with functions of other departments. Inspect all equipment and systems regularly for proper functioning and safety. Inspect buildings and grounds regularly for compliance with local and state codes and safety regulations. Prepare Maintenance Department annual budget and analyze monthly budget.

Required:
  • Able to speak and understand English; communicate effectively verbally and in writing with residents, families and staff
  • Develops departmental, community and corporate goals/objectives, formulate and implement tools for training evaluations and methods for follow-up.  Maintain accurate documentation and meet Human Resources guidelines.
  • Assures that all services and programs are in compliance with federal, state and/or local laws and statutes
  • Organize, direct, and supervise operations of community and the maintenance and repair programs involving buildings and grounds.
  • Schedule and participate in an on-call system of responding to emergency repairs after regular hours
  • Maintain a work order system to ensure prompt response to repair requests
  • Assign duties and evaluate work performance; approve billing and invoices for timely processing and payment
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Preferred:
  • At least five years’ experience in plant engineering and/or trades such as plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, refrigeration, ground maintenance, masonry or maintenance.  Three years of supervisory experience.
